"Blessing"

They need a little kindness,

So, Lord, please heal our blindness,

And help us give them what we have received.

It’s with kindness we are showered,

And with His grace empowered,

Ever since we saw and then believed.

The blessing given to us,

Is meant to flow right through us,

Called to b a catalyst of grace.

And if we don’t they miss it,

And we can’t just dismiss it,

It’s ours to seek the Lord, His will and face.

Blessed to be a blessing,

Relieve all their distressing,

Point them to the Savior and His love.

When we say and do it,

Their trouble they’ll come through it,

Prepare them for the glory up above.

“Above all, clothe yourselves with love, which binds us all together in perfect harmony.” (Colossians 3:14, NAS)

God has poured out His love on us and shown it in countless ways. First and foremost, Jesus died to give us salvation and redeem us in love. Paul writes we should “clothe ourselves” with love. This means that love is what we choose and wear. it is an intentional embrace of mercy and a willingness to give mercy to others. Forgive as we’ve been forgiven, God says. If we do not realize that God has blessed us to be a blessing, we really don’t understand what has happened to us. Receiving the love and giving the love to someone else is the divine cycle of blessing.

Lord, help us to be a blessing, in Jesus’ name.
