"Breeze"
The sweetest times we ever know,
Are with the ones whom we love so,
And every time with them we go,
Gives blessed memories.
And if we miss and do not try,
But rather let the time go by,
Doesn’t really matter why,
It’s hard the pain to ease.
They’re truly God’s own gifts to us,
He smiles through them and we can trust,
But if we don’t, He will adjust,
And our hard hearts unfreeze.
So love the ones whom God gives you,
You know it’s just the best to do,
And give forgiveness through and through,
It will the Spirit please.
Fact, love the sinners, love the saints,
Those who can and those who can’t,
The strong at heart, and hearts that faint,
See them as God sees.
‘Cause life it all comes down to love,
And manifests our God above,
All our hurts He’ll rid us of,
The Spirit blows His breeze,
Through us to love all these.
“Dear friends, let us continue to love one another, for love comes from God.” (1 John 4:7, NLT)
God is love. He shows us His love through the sacrifice of Jesus, and pours His love into the heart of everyone who receives the gift of eternal salvation. From that point in time until we are called home to heaven, the number one, dominating character trait of our lives is love. We receive it, and it flows through us to others. Anything that hinders or blocks or distracts us from this sequence is not of God, but comes from our old selfishness or the devil or both. Jesus made love the evidence that we are authentic disciples, and John explains that without love we really don’t know God. This doesn’t mean that it will always be easy. It simply means that we as believers in Jesus cannot afford to indulge any hurt, bitterness or unforgiveness that would compete with what God wants to flow through our lives. Love one. Love another.
Lord, help us love others the way You have loved us, in Jesus’ name.
