"Breeze"

There it was, right there because,

It’s singin’ on the wind,

A song so sweet, by chance to meet,

Came back to me again.

It blows away, ‘cause it won’t stay,

It’s not for me alone,

But all those who, need love that’s true,

And that’s why it goes on.

A lonely crew, some cowboys who,

Think they have no need,

For the love, sent from above,

But on the wind, the seed.

Comes to say, the price you pay,

To have the Spirit real,

Worth everything, because it brings,

A whole new way to feel.

About life’s way and everyday,

To cowboy up and go,

With Him as Lord, we’re never bored,

And that’s what all should know.

Abundant peace and free release,

From all that holds us back,

To finally be, by His decree,

The one who lives on track.

Love on the breeze, and if you please,

Empowered by that wind,

A song so sweet, It’s hard to beat,

Fills us time and time again.

“…be filled with the Holy Spirit, singing psalms and hymns and spiritual songs among yourselves, and making music to the Lord in your heart…” (Ephesians 5:18-19, NLT)

Paul connects being filled with the Spirit to heart music. Some can’t hear it, while others are inundated by it. The same breeze that touches and transforms some is totally ignored by others. But being filled really shifts us from being complainers to worshippers, and from me-centered to Christ-centered. The Spirit moves like wind and water and fire, and lives the life of Jesus through us. It is a festive, celebratory, abundant life.

Lord, help us to be continually filled with Your Spirit, in Jesus’ name.
