"Everyone"

Everyone is guilty,

‘Cause everyone has sinned,

Some seem worse than others,

Excuses mighty thin.

It’s not my place to judge them,

Just what the Good Book says,

But it provides an answer,

The promise He will bless.

With pardon, grace, and healing,

No more guilt and shame,

Cleansing and forgiveness,

And powerful, new change.

And it all points to Jesus,

Who laid down His life,

And then was raised up from the dead,

To heal our sin and strife.

And you might be a cowboy,

One who keeps his word,

Loyal to the brand you ride,

Kind to the ones you serve.

Even if a top hand,

Good with man and beast,

But none of that can save you,

Not even in the least.

‘Cause getting your salvation,

Is not some thing you earn,

It’s based on you receiving,

A gift, the good news learn.

It’s not about our churching,

Or how much there you go,

We cannot achieve it,

It’s Jesus we must know.

But He will give it to us,

If we trust in Him,

Turn and just surrender,

He’s knocking, let Him in.

And then just as He promised,

The new birth He will give,

Assured we’ll go to heaven,

Eternally to live.

“For everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved…” (Romans 10:13, NLT)

Everyone who calls on Him receives salvation from Him. What words are the right ones? What is the right emotion to accompany this experience? Do I have to be in a church for this to happen? No particular words or feeling, and no, you definitely don’t have to be in a church building! What, then? Call upon Him. Believe and trust in Him. Surrender control to Him. People do it all the time, and rarely exactly the same way, but truth is, it works! One good thing that has come from the Corona virus is that God has used it to turn people to Him. We ought to be praying this will continue, and in great numbers! If you don’t have this settled or you are unsure, please call on the Lord right now. If you are a believe, pray others will find Him.

Lord, thank You for the gift of salvation. Help us share it, in Jesus’ name.
