"For Us"

People often tried it,

But they could not succeed,

And so did situations,

But they could not impede,

The fact that God was present,

And always said He’d be,

He said without condition,

That I would never see,

A day when He was absent,

Or cut off from His grace,

There would not be a moment,

Not even when the pace,

Of life grew fast and frantic,

And storm-clouds make their threat,

When people had opinions,

But God was not through yet.

And, yes, I’ve been discouraged,

And had my doubts and fears,

Had fights with the devil,

In battles through the years.

But I’ve never been forsaken,

Or abandoned or let down,

By the presence of the Savior,

And I can hear the sound.

Of His whisper in the evenin’,

And in the early morn,

And always when I’m needin’,

And my heart is feeling torn.

He is faithful, He is able,

To do what others can’t,

He can fill your heart with courage,

When hope has gotten scant.

So, don’t give up, my brother,

The Lord is still with you,

And don’t give in, my sister,

He’s right with you, too.

He never will forsake us,

He’s for and not against,

His Spirit lives within us,

He’s been there ever since,

We gave our lives to Jesus,

And he came in to stay,

Never, ever doubt it,

You’re going to be okay.

“Can anything ever separate us from Christ’s love?” (Romans 8:35, NLT)

Here’s one of God’s greatest promises. The promise is truly amazing. Nothing can separate us from His love. Nothing. Period. How can this be? It can only be because God is the author of both the statement and the power behind it. And God is not conditioned by human emotion, circumstance, trouble, or anything else. Wow. Let that sink in for a minute. Nothing ever has and nothing ever will. His love is there, and made fully available to all through the sacrifice of Jesus. So, why don’t people under this and receive it? That’s a good question. I know this. When they finally do they wonder why it took them so long. Are you assured of His love? If you are, great! If you aren’t, it’s time.

Lord, help us realize that Your love is for us, not against us, in Jesus’ name.
