"Get Along"

The biggest pain is not the rain,

That falls outside my door,

But what’s inside I cannot hide,

My spirit cannot soar.

So what is wrong that lasts so long,

And cannot get repair,

Just old pain, and loss not gain,

I wish it was not there.

You just say no to burdens so,

You think that they are gone,

But they come back to find a track,

Like some sad country song.

Not so down that I will drown,

But treading as I go,

Keep kicking see and try to be,

The one who lives to know,

A better way and come what may,

My trust in God is strong,

And in the end His grace He’ll send,

To help me get along.

“My grace is all you need. My power works best in weakness…” (2 Corinthians 12:9, NLT). (Art by Herman Walker, hermanwalker.com. Used by permission. Thanks, Herman, and God bless you.)
