"Go"

 Go ride, go feed, go work, go play,

Go smile, inspire, go help, go pray,

     Go until your go is gone,

Then go another day.

Go worship, witness, go on, go,

Go help the least and clearly show,

     God’s great love so loud and strong,

Just go, and don’t go slow.

Go fight, go tell, go testify,

Go truth in love, and tell no lie,

     Go big and go out-serve them all,

Go give it your best try.

Go beyond, go so far, go the distance, go,

Go where most of them don’t know,

     Go so they can hear God’s call,

Go ‘cause He sends us so.

Go all out, go out there,

Go where He leads, go everywhere,

     Go and don’t look back,

Go, God’s Good News to share.

Go like He said and never fear,

Go in His name to dry their tear,

     Go, don’t run from hell’s attack,

Go tell them God is near.

“How can they call on the one they have not believed in? And how can they believe in the one of whom they have not heard? And how can they hear without someone preaching to them?” (Romans 10:14, NIV)

These verses from Paul to the Roman church are all about going to spread God’s Good News about Jesus. Jesus sent His disciples to make new disciples, and this is still our responsibility. We can become very passive in this regard using the excuse that God will get the word out without us. But if this scripture is to be taken seriously, it means that God wants to use us to get it done. The alternative is that we miss the opportunity to partner with God on His great mission and agenda in this world. We are not called merely to go to church and be blessed. We are called to go into all the world and be a blessing.

Lord, help us to go when it’s time to go, in Jesus’ name.
