"Just a Cowboy"

Just a cowboy man, with a simple plan,

To saddle, ride or die,

And through the years, in spite of fears,

He gave it his best try.

He sometimes fell, but lived to tell,

And stepped back on again,

Grace intervened, the best he’d seen,

And saved his soul from sin.

Still a hand, rode for the brand,

And found a stronger peace,

All his regret he carried yet,

The Lord gave him release.

Made up his mind he’d seek and find,

God’s will at every turn,

And when he did he never hid,

From bridges he must burn.

Found a love, like hand in glove,

To share his later days,

She loved him true, knew what to do,

To show him that always.

His life complete, a front row seat,

To see the blessings flow,

There’s more to do, he is not through,

They want the world to know,

That hope is real and they both feel,

A calling they can share,

The tableside, the welcome wide,

For all who sit down there.

So y’all come on, don’t let what’s wrong,

Keep you from what’s real,

The cowboy way to you will say,

God’s love you soon will feel.

“Now we have received, not the spirit of the world, but the Spirit who is from God, so that we may know the things freely given to us by God.” (1 Corinthians 2:12, NAS)

When the Spirit comes in and takes the leadership of a man’s life, He leads us into God’s will and calling. In the process there are many trials and testings. But ultimately the blessings far outweigh anything we are required to sacrifice or change. As the blessings multiply so do the responsibilities to share them. If we continue to obey we will continue to witness the fruit that God is producing through the relational seeds we sow. it’s is life’s greatest adventure because it is shared with the Lord Himself and people who have received Him,

Lord, help us overcome every trial and enjoy every blessing, in Jesus’ name.
