"No Quit'

Tired it seems and low on dreams,

‘Cause life will disappoint,

Slows you down and dark thoughts drown,

The devil will disjoint,

From the place, that sets the pace,

And sharpens like a blade,

To isolate, and subjugate,

And make you feel afraid.

To steal from you all that is true,

And paralyze you so,

Think what’s the use, tired of abuse,

To drain all of your go.

But that’s just when the Lord comes in,

To say that you’re not through,

His call is real, and here’s the deal,

There’s more for you to do.

And, yes, you can ‘cause there’s a plan,

Immune from satan’s  lie,

So cowboy up and fill your cup,

The Spirit fuels your try.

Get up and fight and do it right,

For us there is no quit,

The Spirit’s pow’r for every hour,

Just let it go, that’s it.

“Therefore we do not lose heart, but though our outer man is decaying, yet our inner man is being renewed day by day.” (2 Corinthians 4:16, NAS)

Discouragement is one of the devil’s biggest tools and Paul was no stranger to its threat. But in spite of what he called outward “decay” and many trials, he said we do not lose heart. Why? it’s because we have the Holy Spirit. Without Him we would be relegated to our best effort which ultimately always falls short in a supernatural battle. But with the Spirit we are more than conquerors. We just have to man up and rely on Him.

Lord, help us rely on Your Spirit when discouragement threatens, in Jesus’ name.
