"Rain"
The rain, it drips and my truck slips,
Across the muddy plain,
Moving hay and feed today,
I love to see it rain.
Drips down my brim and off the limb,
Of cottonwoods so tall,
Soaks the land and ain’t it grand,
I love to see it fall.
Why, you ask, ‘cause when it’s passed,
The parched ground turns so green,
We know about, those times of drought,
Gets bad as you have seen.
The blessed shower, it holds a power,
That’s really hard to beat,
Thank God it pours, on mine and yours,
With thankfulness we’ll greet.
And while we pray, for this today,
Let’s ask for one thing more,
Please send the Spirit, we can hear it,
On us His presence pour.
Showers of blessing, relieves distressing,
And gives us what we need,
So pour it out, we’ve done without,
May our dry hearts be freed.
“There will be showers of blessing…” (Ezekiel 34:26, NLT)
The ancient prophet, Ezekiel, spoke of a time when God would shower blessing on His people. Paul said that the Lord has showered His kindness upon those who receive salvation through the Son. (Eph. 1:8, NLT). Like the refreshing rain that is outpoured upon a dry and parched land, the Lord’s presence renews and heals us. He is always with us, but when He makes His presence known in powerful ways, it’s always a great blessing.
Lord, help us to receive the blessing You want to rain down upon us, in Jesus’ name.
