"Thunderclouds"

The thunderclouds will gather,

We really need the rain,

The storm with wind and lightning,

Turns out to be our gain.

We know we love the sunshine,

And a pretty clear-blue day,

With breezes softly blowing,

And our life feelsl okay.

But everything needs water,

And if it gets too dry,

Man and beast do suffer,

And all the plants will die.

Stormy can be scary,

To mainly just get through,

Put on that old slicker,

And that stampede string, too.

And if you get the feeling,

Will this ever end,

Every storm will finish

Just cannot be sure when.

God knows all about it,

And if you’re in a storm,

Not sure you’ll survive it,

Is this a brand-new norm?

The answer is you’ll make it,

The sky may rain and blow,

But God says He will use it,

To teach what you should know.

And water brings the answer,

To everything that’s dry,

And we really need it,

That’s the truth, no lie.

The thunderclouds will gather,

But there’s no need to fear,

As surely as it started,

It soon will disappear.

“When you go through deep waters, I will be with you…” (Isaiah 43:1, NLT)

It’s when, not if. We will experience the storm and deep waters. Will we drown? Sometimes things seem hopeless. The anniversary of my sister’s death is in just a few days. Four years ago she drowned in a boating accident. I know she is in heaven, but I never think about the “deep waters” without remembering her. Life happens and we cannot control it. Trouble, sickness, death, heart-break and more happen to people and they have to find a way to go on living. What makes the difference? Put simply, our relationship with God. When you know God is with you, you know you’re never alone. He gives us strength to survive and overcome. Also, He lets us know that the storm came, but it will pass. Believe it, in Jesus’ name.

Lord, help us stay strong in the storm, in Jesus’ name.
