"Valentine"

A special day, to her you say,

I love you most of all,

My valentine, forever mine,

And when your name I call,

The sound’s so sweet, I oft repeat,

Both early and when late,

A dream come true, with only you,

I’m glad you are my fate.

But greater still, the love we feel,

From heaven to us came,

And every day, we’re glad to say,

We’re saved in Jesus’ name.

And as His bride, forever tied,

By grace that sets us free,

His marriage feast, we may be least,

But there eternally.

So praise the love from up above,

And praise for love down here,

Together we, in love you see,

With all that He holds dear.

“…that you, being rooted and grounded in love, may be able to comprehend with all the saints what is the breadth and length and height and depth, and to know the love of Christ which surpasses knowledge, that you may be filled up to all the fullness of God.” (Ephesians 3:17-19, NAS)

Paul’s prayer is that the Ephesian Christians will know the unknowable. He prays that they will understand the dimensions of God’s love- its breadth, length, depth, and height. In so doing they will be filled with all the fullness of God. It’s an amazing thought! The more we understand, the more God fills us. It is wide enough to include everyone. It is long enough to reach and recover the one who is farthest away. It is deep enough to heal the deepest wounds and break the strongest addictions. And it is high enough to bridge the gap between heaven and earth, and especially hell on earth. What love indeed!

Lord, show us Your love, in Jesus’ name.
