"W-D Back Forty"
The wheel that’s squeakin’ loudly,
Will often get the grease,
And in life’s runnin’ journey,
Provide us with release.
They say out in the country,
And I think that it’s true,
If it moves and it shouldn’t,
Duct tape it strong like glue.
And if it should be moving,
And you can’t make it go,
Or if it’s squeaking loudly,
This is what you should know,
Take down that W-D forty,
And spray it strongly on,
And it will give solution,
So you get that squeak gone.
And when you think about it,
And problems get you stuck,
Or something moves that shouldn’t,
You think you’re out of luck.
The Lord knows just the answer,
To bind what comes apart,
And He’ll loose every tether,
And W-D your heart.
A-binding and duct taping,
A-spraying on His oil,
A-healing all that ails us,
Christ is the devil’s foil.
So don’t give up, my brother,
And sister, dry your tears,
Jesus is the answer,
For all our days and years.
“He heals the brokenhearted and bandages their wounds…” (Ps. 147:3, NLT)
We’ve all been injured at one time or another. My worst physical injury came later in life when a counterfeit horse bucked me off unexpectedly. Broke my pelvis, hip, an adjoining bone, and two ribs. Convinced me I was no longer bullet-proof. No surgery needed, and I healed over time. But that hip flares up from time to time. The same is true for emotional and spiritual injuries. God heals us, but sometimes they flare back up. What then? Trusting God to heal our wounds and continue to heal them when they bother us again is the only way to freedom. The alternative is to live in unforgiveness and recurring pain, and that’s no way to be. Forgive every perpetrator, give the experience and its negative impact to the Lord, and trust Him for the grace to relieve the pain and energize the forgiveness. He heals the brokenhearted. By His stripes we are healed.
Lord, heal us, in Jesus’ name.
