"What's Right"

What used to be, not what we see,

Should give a cowboy pause,

And where we’ve been, the mess we’re in,

Is serious because,

Deception grows, and no one knows,

How far the lies will lead,

Come, take a look, at that Good Book,

We’ll find the truth we need.

And any day, a runaway,

Can be turned and stopped,

And so the spin, can be reined in,

And truth for lies all swapped.

So saddle up and interrupt,

The downhill devil’s pull,

The truth in love from up above,

Can fill us till we’re full.

With cowboy praise, God’s banners raise,

And soldiers for the fight,

In Jesus’ name and for His fame,

By His grace do what’s right.

“For the word of God is living and active and sharper than any two-edged sword, and piercing as far as the division of soul and spirit, of both joints and marrow, and able to judge the thoughts and intentions of the heart.” (Hebrews 4:12, NAS)

We live and are led by the living word of God. Both inspired scripture and the voice of the Spirit who helps us apply it are necessary to stay on course and blameless in God’s sight. God’s word, when embraced, sets us free to be everything God intends. If discarded or diminished in our eyes, any lie the enemy uses isa threat. If we use God’s word as our judge and director, we can’t go wrong. Every thought, from joint to marrow, is measured by what God says is right.

Lord, help us follow Your word, in Jesus’ name.
