"Wonder-Full"
The wonder and the glory,
The color, scheme, design,
It all tells His story,
And love in every line.
I used to think the sadness,
Was all I’d ever know,
So much pain and badness,
Could not escape the low.
Riding those old ponies,
Lookin’ for the strays,
Drinkin’ with my cronies,
Fillin’ up my days.
But never really seeing,
The truth in front of me,
And that’s His plan for being,
By His grace all set free.
It’s all about direction,
And who is in control,
His divine affection,
To heal and make us whole.
And when a lonely puncher,
Comes home to who he is,
And not some number cruncher,
But to Jesus and become His.
All that happens after,
We can celebrate,
Through all the tears and laughter,
A life that’s truly great.
Full of God-breathed wonder,
Full of love and light,
God’s lightning and His thunder,
And everything’s that right.
“He set my feet on solid ground and steadied me along…” (Psalm 40:2, NLT)
It’s a wonderful thing to be saved by the Lord. When life’s pursuits leave us empty, He never does. He invites us to come to Him, and when we finally do, we wonder why it took so long. We all have our interests, desires, plans and tastes. But what God wants for us trumps everything. Life is about adjusting to God’s will. It’s about surrendering to His Lordship and following His direction, no matter the cost. We come to that decision, and then again and again we renew it. Jesus is Lord. It’s all that really matters.
Lord, help us recognize that the only solid ground is found when we surrender wholeheartedly to You, in Jesus name.
