"Accluistic"

We’ve all been accluistic,

You might not know the term,

It’s when you are so clueless,

And a climb for you to learn.

All of us have been there,

At one time or another,

No clue what’s expected,

And bases there to cover.

I don’t know what I’m doing,

You know you’ve felt that way,

And it can be confusing,

You might not want to stay.

And when it does get crazy,

And you don’t feel prepared,

Just gotta take a deep breath,

And not give in to scared.

Life has its surprises,

Sometimes you take a leap,

Screaming all the way down,

But memories you keep.

And when the splash you’re making,

Turns out it does no harm,

Might even help somebody,

And causes no alarm.

You see you grow a little,

You get a benefit,

From trying something different,

You don’t know what you’ll get.

So take the leap, my brother,

Sis, don’t be scared at all,

We’re on the way to somewhere,

And we can get there, y’all.

And if there’s consternation,

And you have no clue,

Just pray up and go for it,

Whatever else you do.

“Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not to your own understanding…” (Proverbs 3:5, NIV)

Our own understanding will get us in trouble. Not that logic or knowledge or getting all the facts are bad. It’s just that the Lord has asked us to trust Him and walk by faith. And this may turn out to be something that goes against the norm. Learning to walk by faith is a challenging adventure, especially when we feel “accluisitic” and don’t know what we’re doing. Maybe it is those times that we especially need to press in and trust Him to lead us. We know we can, so we should.

Lord, help us to trust You with all our hearts, in Jesus’ name.
