Barn Lesson
First thing every morning,
We clean out what was left,
With an old manure rake,
And haul off all the heft.
Of all that old waste matter,
‘Cause if you let it go,
It will ‘cause a problem,
So shovel out and throw.
And that’s a daily lesson,
Don’t let things pile high,
Just tend to it quickly,
And tell it all good-bye.
Get a daily cleansing,
Of all that went before,
Tell it all to Jesus,
And He will give you more,
Grace and every blessing,
‘Cause you come clean each day,
Don’t let that old stuff stop you,
Or even let it stay.
“But if we confess our sins to Him, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all wickedness…” (1 John 1:9, NLT)
Jesus died to forgive us for all our sins, and when we put our trust in HIm He cleanses us entirely. But the only way to stay current in our fellowship with Him is to confess our sins daily. To confess simply means to agree with God about what we have done. Agreement means we call it what He calls it, and not something else. If He calls it selfishness, we don’t call it a personality conflict, for example. We call it selfishness and ask Him to cleanse us. Staying current is like shoveling out a stall everyday. It’s no big deal is you stay on top of it. But it gets pretty rank if you don’t. Stay clear and clean. It’s the best way to live.
Lord, we agree with You on every sin and trust You to cleanse us, in Jesus’ name.
