"Cowboy Men"

I sat with men of God today,

And heard all that they had to say,

They spoke of how the Spirit leads,

And how the Lord meets all our needs.

These cowboys, men of hoof and horn,

No matter hats and boots they’ve worn,

Put off the old, put on the new,

And hearing God, know what to do.

Their promise keep, no matter what,

Their word is bond, is all they’ve got,

When liars bending with the wind,

Deceive and let the devil in.

But I trust these to drive him out,

In Jesus’ name without a doubt,

To stand and fight when others run,

Based on what the Savior’s done.

We cowboy up and humbly pray,

That we are Spirit-filled today,

And together have each other’s back,

Against the spiritual attack.

The darkness cannot quench the light,

Nor defeat us in this fight,

Be strong in Him, the Word is clear,

And perfect love drives out all fear.

“There is no fear in love; but perfect love casts out fear…” (1 John 4:18, NAS)

We often think of fear as something we overcome by having stronger faith. But ultimately, the thing that expels fear is love. Of course our faith wins because we trust in God’s love to protect and empower us. We operate in the power of immeasurable, unstoppable love. It’s love that heals every wound, forgives every failing, and lifts every burden. When men of God love, marriages, families, churches, and communities change. It’s the nation’s and the world’s greatest hope.

Lord, fill Your men with love, in Jesus’ name.
