"For You"

The promised ancient blessing,

Was that there would be a son,

A virgin would conceive Him,

And when His work was done,

The way of man’s salvation,

Would be an open door,

And the problem of the ages,

God would solve forevermore.

‘Cause the baby born in Bethlehem,

Would be the Lord’s own Christ,

And as a man His death would pay,

A very costly price.

The shedding of His blood  you see,

Was what it cost to pay,

For the sins of all mankind,

To save from judgment day.

He sent not His only Son,

The world for to condemn,

But that this old sad, wicked world,

Could be saved through Him.

Don’t get confused by worldly thoughts,

That claim they’re many ways,

God made the one way simple,

Just one that He okays.

And that one way is Jesus,

Who came so long ago,

To live and die and rise again,

And all so we can know,

The joy of sins forgiven,

The freedom of God’s grace,

The wonder of deliverance,

And the strength to run our race.

And so this Christmas season,

Remember that it’s true,

The greatest gift of all,  you see,

Is that Christ came for you.

“For God did not send His Son into the world to judge the world, but that the world might be saved through Him.” (John 3:17, NAS)

This is important to know. The One who had every right to judge the world did not. Instead He offered grace and salvation through His Son. Jesus came as God’s ultimate solution to the great tragedy of man’s sinful rebellion. Jesus is God’s one solution, not one among many. Jesus claimed to be the one way to the Father, and I agree with Him. It is not God who condemns but self-condemnation occurs when one rejects God’s offer of grace. It’s just that simple.

Lord, help us accept the one solution You have provided, in Jesus’ name.
