"Get 'Er Done"

This what you’re s’posed to do,

The cow boss made it plain,

Go out there and get ‘er done,

And you better not complain.

And we would go, no matter what,

According to his plan,

Even if we were not sure,

He always said you can.

And anytime the chore is hard,

Folks will say they can’t,

Make a list of reasons why,

And even moan and rant.

If it is worth doin’,

It is worth doin’ right,

And we should give it our best shot,

And try with all our might.

And same is true when God’s the one,

Who says to go and do,

So many times we think we can’t,

And in a way it’s true.

But bottom line He gives the strength,

To go and get it done,

His power strong in weakness,

The Spirit of the Son.

So before you make excuse,

‘Bout what you cannot do,

Remember what the Savior,

Will always do for you.

He’ll call and then assign you,

To your certain destiny,

And then will give the power,

To get it done, you see.

“I can do everything through Him who gives me strength.” (Philppians 4:13, NIV)

Paul has a lot to say about learning to be content in every circumstance. He says he’s learned to have a lot and go without, and it’s only possible when we know we can depend upon the power of Christ, no matter what. The great secret he learned was that Jesus was living in him by the power of the Holy Spirit, and would give him what he needed to meet every challenge and complete every assignment. Even when, and especially when, it was humanly impossible, the Lord always made a way and supplied the need. We can get it done through Christ and His strength.

Lord, supply us with Your strength, in Jesus’ name.
