"Go and Grow"

Here we are, here we go,

For better or for worse,

We thank the Lord for blessing,

And the power to break the curse,

Of anything that hinders us,

And all that slows us down,

Find the Spirit’s guidance,

To stay on solid ground.

A brand new life awaits us,

And with it brand new grace,

Moving forward with momentum,

With Jesus in this race.

No doubt there will be trouble,

‘Cause we’re not in heaven yet,

Spirit’s portion on us double,

Is what He says we’ll get.

And with His love and power,

No fear is what we know,

Everyday ‘cause He is Lord,

We’ll always grow and go.

“For God did not give us a spirit of timidity, but a spirit of power, of love and of self-discipline.” ( 2 Timothy 1:7, NIV)

Disciples of Jesus are not intimidated by adversity. This is because of the Holy Spirit. The Holy Spirit delivers us from fear and timidity. These are replaced by power, love and self-discipline. All three of these are needed to succeed in our God-given assignments. Even when we are called to wait on the Lord, we are proactively going forward spiritually. Why? It’s what God wants us to do, and we should because we can. We can because of the Holy Spirit.

Lord, help us to claim the power of Your Spirit, in Jesus’ name.
