"God's Tally"

When God’s tally books are opened,

And we there before Him stand,

No doubt then, He’s fair, my friend,

No miscounts in that land.

The way was clearly given,

The Son of God for all,

There’s no use, to make excuse,

‘Cause anyone could call.

And when they called on Jesus’ name,

Nobody was left out,

God comes near, and makes it clear,

Forgiveness, without doubt.

And so all of humanity,

Will stand before God’s throne,

The Book of Life, the bride His wife,

He’ll claim them as His own.

And God alone will make the count,

And bring His gather in,

Beloved and true, makes all things new,

No matter where we’ve been.

And for some the judgment comes,

But they know God is right,

Missed the chance for heaven’s dance,

‘Cause they ran from the light.

So here’s the most important thing,

That we can ever know,

Can we look into the book,

And see that our names show.

If not, or there’s uncertainty,

It is not worth the risk,

Repent today and hear Him say,

You’re mine and You won’t miss.

“He who overcomes will inherit these things, and I will be His God and he will be My Son.” (Revelation 21:7, NAS)

Living as God’s forever children is the ultimate goal! The provision and promise is there for all, and when we stand before God at the end, salvation will depend upon the blood of Jesus and whose name is written in the Lamb’s book of life. The saved are there, and the unsaved are not. But God never misjudges anyone. No one will ever go into punishment by mistake. We can trust in that and in the God who sent His Son to save.

Lord, help us be sure we are in Your book, in Jesus’ name.
