"Grace"
Sometimes when I’m impatient,
Maybe working with a horse,
Or maybe moving cattle,
Frustrations there, of course.
Or maybe with a friendship,
Not what it ought to be,
Or even one’s own children,
And we can’t always see,
What is really happening,
Or if it’ll turn out right,
Tempted to get angry,
And really be uptight.
Try to stop and take a breath,
Let God’s peace calm your mind,
Trust me when I tell you,
It works well every time.
Just hold it with an open hand,
And let God take control,
His Spirit’s there to help you,
And deep down in your soul,
When you stop and think about it,
Every victory that He’ll give,
Springs from our surrender,
We have to die to live.
So when the stress gets to you,
And you feel yourself get tense,
Ask the Lord to give you grace,
And soon it will make sense,
‘Cause you’ll receive the wisdom,
The strength and energy,
To do whatever you should do,
And that’s how it should be.
No matter your frustration,
Or uphill circumstance,
Just call out to the Savior,
He’s waiting for the chance,
To show you He is faithful,
To fill your heart with grace,
Whatever is most needed,
To finish strong your race.
“So let us come boldly to the throne of our gracious God. There we will receive His mercy, and we will find grace to help us when we need it most…” (Hebrews 4:16, NLT)
When do you need grace the most? When you are distraught, disgusted, diseased or discouraged? The answer is yes, at all these times and more. God promises saving grace to those who need HIs pardon and the assurance of eternal life. God promises sufficient, sustaining grace to those who are weakened by life’s struggle and are about ready to give up. God promises grace to the humble, and energizes them to put the devil on the run. Whatever the problem, whatever the situation, whatever the challenge- God’s grace is enough. But will we receive it? The author of Hebrews encourages us to come boldly to get some when you need it most. It’s real. It’s there. And it is enough. Always.
Lord, give us grace when we need it most, in Jesus’ name.
