"He Said It"

The Good Lord said it, no need to dread it,

He spoke the truth in love.

And when He did, He helped get rid,

Of the push that came to shove.

The devil real, came to steal,

Our true identity.

But Jesus came, and in His name,

We can be set free.

For He knows and His word shows,

Who we are in Him.

No more lies or false disguise,

He’ll prune and He will trim.

Until the you He always knew,

Would from your soul emerge.

The Spirit strong casts out what’s wrong,

And powerfully will surge.

Truth and Spirit, can you hear it,

Or stay the way you are,

It’s not a dream, the Spirit’s stream,

Will hear your every scar.

Come home to you, the past it’s true,

Will try to hold you back,

But God’s own Son, for everyone,

Will give all that you lack.

“Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation,,,” (2 Corinthians 5:17, NIV)

Who you are in Christ is the rea you. Everything else is a false identity based upon what the world may want you to think, but is false. You are not what they think you are or even what you think you are. You are only who God says you are. He says that in Christ you are a new creation. What does this mean? It means that when you give your life to Jesus you begin to become the person that God created you to be and to do the things God created you to do. When you know who you really are, you can do what you are destined to do.

Lord, help us receive our true identity from You, in Jesus’ name.
