"Blessed"

I feel blessed for I can rest,

In who God sent to me,

A bride, His gift, always to lift,

My heart from misery.

And cowboys who know what to do,

When friends are what I need,

Amigos true and brothers, too,

Plant loyalty’s strong seed.

He gave me sons, the only ones,

Who wear the family brand,

And daughters four, their beauty more,

Than I can understand.

Grandchildren then with whom I spend,

Time under God’s bright sun,

They’re joy to me, will always be,

And old grandaddy’s fun.

Our livestock, too, our place it’s true,

And chickens she gave names,

Relief from pain, our life is sane,

The country’s grace and gains.

So from here, I’ll say it clear,

I plan to finish strong,

The values of, how God shows love,

I’ve felt it all along.

He who did not spare his own Son, but gave him up for us all—how will he not also, along with him, graciously give us all things?” (Romans 8:32, NIV)

If Jesus was the only thing God gave us, He would be enough. But that’s not true! Paul says if God is willing to give us His Son to die and be raised from the dead, won’t He give us everything else we need. Absolutely! And the Lord doesn’t just give us Jesus along with what we need. He gives us more blessings than we can imagine, and will do so forever. God is good, and graces us with abundant and eternal life.

Lord, help us recognize and receive every blessing Jesus died to give us, in Jesus’ name.
