"Help"

Some will not admit it,

Thought it’s obviously true,

There comes a time you need to ask,

For help with what you do.

No, you don’t need permission,

When God shows you the way,

But you’ll need help to do it,

Though hard for some to say,

That you ain’t no lone ranger,

Nor ever should you be,

God joins folks together,

To get things done, you see.

Pay attention to the grace,

You feel in that connection,

And if it grows and deepens,

There’s a mission intersection.

Yes, God will send you partners,

Who’ll love and stand by you,

There when you have trouble,

Glad for your success, too.

So please do not resist it,

When God sends help to go,

All will turn out better,

And the fruit will come, you know.

Be the first to say it,

And pray for who and when,

Where two or three are gathered,

You know it’s time to win.

“Two are better than one, because they have a good return for their work…” (Ecclesiastes 4:9, NIV)

The Bible has a lot to say about having a solid spiritual relationship with two or three people. This ancient passage says two are better than one and describes the benefits. Jesus said where two or three agree in prayer He will answer. He said where two or three gather in His name, He will be present. Jesus sent out His disciples two by two and had an inner circle of three. This is the basic relational building block of the body of Christ. The enemy wants to keep us isolated and alone. You don’t need someone’s permission to do God’s will, but you do need help.

Lord, connect us to one another, in Jesus’ name.
