"He's Alive!"

He is not here, He is alive,

That’s what the angels said,

To broken hearts with ruined starts,

How could He not be dead?

The empty tomb, stone rolled away,

Clear that He was gone,

Alive again? With no bloodstain?

Their hope, not very strong.

But then they saw the Master,

Standing there so real,

Nail-scarred hands were God’s own plans,

The shock and joy they feel,

Oh wonder of all wonders,

The One who healed and taught,

Laid down to die, to bring God nigh,

And set free what was caught,

In satan’s web of sin and pain,

Destroyed the curse and claim,

Our hurts to heal, and God reveal,

Salvation in His name.

Conquered death and hell when He,

Rose up from the grave,

The one lost sheep to find and keep,

Make sure their soul to save.

So on this Easter morning,

Bring all your broken heart,

The One who rose, because He chose,

To give us a new start.

No matter what has gone before,

The living Christ will say,

My grace is how, you can change now,

Because I rose that day.

"Why are you looking among the dead for someone who is alive? He isn’t here! He is risen from the dead!” (Luke 24:5-6, NLT)

From the first time anyone said it, the good news of Jesus’ resurrection from the dead has been a source of life-changing amazement! From the women to the apostles to over five hundred people to Saul the terrorist, the risen Christ changes everything and everyone. Amazing, indeed! But the world still scoffs and otherwise intellectually superior people find reasons for their unbelief. They will know one day that the cross and empty tomb were the divine intersection of their salvation, but the One to whom they kneel has become their judge when all He ever wanted to be was their Savior. One must reject God’s grace in order to be accountable to His justice. But no one has to miss the grace! If there is a heartbeat there is hope that they will turn to the One who conquered death for all. That’s why we keep on saying, in every way possible, here is the grace of God! Jesus lives!

Lord, help us know and share the good news of Your resurrection from the dead, in Jesus’ name.
