"Jesus' Horses"

Out yonder in tomorrow,

Where yet I cannot go,

Though now I deal with sorrow,

One thing I’m sure I know,

That there’s a good horse waiting,

Made just for me to ride,

And there is no negating,

Though the devil might have tried.

But no way he will stop me,

On the ride the Lord has planned,

It is a future memory,

For me that fire is fanned.

Based upon a promise,

That was made once long ago,

And I’m no doubting Thomas,

It’s by the Spirit that I know,

That the horse, he is a white one,

And I’ll bet athletic, too,

With a wide hip, can’t be outrun,

And a pretty head, it’s true.

And right there ‘longside others,

Is the one the Lord will ride,

With all the sisters and the brothers,

Praise rising like the tide.

The riders altogether,

When the Lord of hosts appears,

Evil will be tethered,

And He’ll dry our every tear.

Out yonder in tomorrow,

It’s my future memory,

When Jesus’ horses will show,

The end of history.

“The armies of heaven, dressed in the finest of pure white linen, followed Him on white horses…” (Revelation 19:14, NLT).

The Bible speaks of a day in the future when Jesus will return to earth and end human history as we know it. He will reign, and every tongue will confess Him as Lord and every knee will bow to Him. He will ride from the heavenly realm on a great white horse, and those who have become part of the great heavenly host of believers will also ride on white horses. The magnitude and magnificence of this event is beyond all description, but it’s coming. The thought of it should make our hearts beat faster with anticipation! Never doubt it. Jesus is coming again.

Lord, help us live with joyous anticipation of the day when You will return, in Jesus’ name.
