"Pearl-snap Christmas Party"
Are y’all going, yes, we’re going,
To the pearl-snap Christmas dance,
And I’m hoping, yes, I’m hoping,
That she’ll give me the chance,
To show I still can two-step,
And waltz and so much more,
‘Cause at the pearl-snap Christmas party,
We know what dancin’s for.
And that’s to wrap your arms around her,
And show her that you care,
And to sip a little egg nog,
With all the cowboys there.
We’ll call for that old fiddle,
And that banjo picker, too,
And the one that plays the pedal steel,
They all know what to do.
And all the folks’ll be there,
The old ones laughing long,
And all the little children,
Trying hard to do no wrong.
‘Cause they all know that Santa,
Knows naughty and knows nice,
Makin’ that big list of his,
And then he’ll check it twice.
And, Lord, at all the food we’ll eat,
When not on that dance floor,
Spin her all around the room,
And then come back for more.
And when the evenin’s over,
We shake and hug good-bye,
And me and Stacey will go home,
And some will wonder why,
Those two old married people,
Are having so much fun,
And we’ll be glad to tell ‘em,
We’ll share with anyone,
That the pearl-snap Christmas party,
Is just another way,
We enjoy God’s blessing,
And all that we can say,
Is merry, merry Christmas,
And God bless one and all,
Let’s take the joy God gives us,
Into the new year, y’all!
“My purpose is to give them a rich and satisfying life…” (John 10:10, NLT)
Rich and satisfying? Are we there yet? Some never are, and that’s because they’re looking in all the wrong places with all the wrong people. They end up being robbed of what they want the most, and that’s what only God can give them. Those who miss out rarely will admit they they are responsible for their own choices which led them to the results they have experienced in life. But until a person makes a proactive decision about their life’s direction, the odds are stacked that they will never find contentment, peace and happiness. The thief steals it from them, even though Jesus died and was raised to deliver it. He wants us to be happy, but only on His terms and in His way. That’s the only way, but that way is accessible to all.
Lord, give us a rich, satisfying and abundant life, in Jesus’ name.
