"Just in Time"
When the thing that you asked God for,
Takes longer than you think,
And you wonder if it’s working,
And your hope begins to sink.
Remember though it’s troubling,
And you want an answer now,
God is never tardy,
And He’s at work somehow.
Sometimes there is a miracle,
That changes everything,
I love it when that happens,
Makes this old heart sing.
But sometimes not the whole thing,
The miracle He brings,
Is grace to change what’s in my heart,
And gives my burden wings.
So which answer does He give me,
And when is He on time,
His timing is just perfect,
He works in all things fine.
But I just have to learn it,
Though it can be uphill,
I choose today to trust Him,
He will my needs all fill.
“Commit everything you do to the Lord. Trust Him, and He will help you…” (Ps. 37:5, NLT)
It all boils down to commitment. When we pray and expect and hope for a miracle, the whole process must be surrendered over into the Lord’s hands. That way, I trust in His timing. I trust Him to answer how He chooses, even if that is not what I’m asking for. He will supply my need. He’s promised to do that. He says if we delight in Him, He’ll even give us our heart’s desires. I believe it, too. But the ways of the Lord are not our ways. When it doesn’t work out the way I’ve prayed, committing it all into His hands is the only answer. God saves, heals and miraculously changes things. But sometime He just changes me. I’ve got to be willing to accept either, and can only do so if I commit everything to Him and trust in His help.
Lord, help us commit everything to You, in Jesus’ name.
