"Presence"
In the presence of the Holy,
In the presence of the saints,
In the presence of the angels,
With I can’s and I can’t’s.
You can sometimes hear a whisper,
You can sometimes see the smoke,
Of the glory of the Savior,
And words He speaks or spoke.
The Spirit takes it over,
The Spirit has His way,
The Spirit, if we’re willing,
Will over us hold sway.
He takes away our confidence,
So we’ll depend on Him,
He takes away our every fear,
Nothing can stop us then.
He heals the deepest injuries,
Lifts up the broken heart,
Breaks the bonds of unbelief,
Tears every chain apart.
We leave with a new vision,
We see as Jesus sees,
What has stolen victory,
Now we feel release.
I go because You send me,
I speak because I hear,
My calm because You love me,
And dry my every tear.
The presence of the Lord changes everything, and His presence is promised to every believer. The question is: Are we aware of the One who is present? The answer is: Not always. Sometimes the Lord’s presence feels distant. But, truth is, He is present, in us and through us in the power of the Holy Spirit. Are we always aware of His presence. No. Are we always responsive to His Spirit? No, we are not. But when we humble ourselves and seek the Lord, He is always ready to manifest His presence and grace. That’s one of the greatest things about the Lord. He always graces the humble. Wow. Can you feel that? Can you believe it? Always, in every case, humility triggers grace. Do you need grace? Yes, if you are honest. So, why not stop making excuses for bad behavior and honestly humble yourself? It’s the best formula in scripture, and perhaps God’s greatest promise. If you do, He will. And when, not if, He does, you will get what you need to carry on.
Lord, help us right now carry on with what You’ve called us to do, in Jesus’ name.
