"Laughter"

When the laughter of the grandkids,

Is something you can hear,

And they are loud and splashing,

In the waters flowing near.

And the old rope swing is swinging,

And the creek is freezing cold,

And the memories are making,

And it never will get old.

The horses are tied quietly,

Waiting to be rode,

And over there the pickup,

On the tailgate no big load,

Just the cokes and snacks and music,

A-playing songs we love,

And the afternoon gets breezy,

And the sun goes down above.

Time to pack it all up,

‘Cause here comes that old moon,

Poppy says come back again,

And they say we will soon.

But when God sends a day like this,

We all should grateful be,

Give thanks to the Lord above,

And give Him praise you see.

“Are any of you happy? You should sing praises…” (James 5:13, NLT)

All of us know we should call on the Lord when we go through difficulty. Even praise Him in spite of it. But what about when you have a good day? What about when you’ve enjoyed something? Are you happy? Then, sing praises. Why? Because God gave you that experience. In fact, every good and perfect gift comes from HIm. When it’s good, it’s God. When it’s not good, praise God anyhow. But when it’s good, give Him credit. I had a very good day today. Time spent with my son and daughter-in-law and grandkids, and great memories. They’ve left, I’m tired, but very thankful. Why? I guess because this is the kind of day that brings a smile when you remember it. And that makes me say, praise the Lord.
