"Loosed"

They cut the cord, thank the Lord,

We’re loosed from pregnancy,

Life is birthed into this earth,

Unique for all to see.

And as we grow, we come to know,

We bear a heavy weight,

God sends His grace into our race,

His love is very great.

Then we’re set free, it’s meant to be,

Loosed from hell and sin,

The Kingdom keys, it’s one of these,

Saved from the mess we’re in.

The hold that’s strong, does not belong,

‘Cause Jesus died so we,

Are loosed within, it’s how we win,

And from it all break free.

And when our days find twilight’s gaze,

And shadows lengthen then,

Life loses grip, because our trip,

Has come right to its end.

The loosening of everything,

We held with open hand,

No need to weep, we give to keep,

And ours the Promised Land.

“For only as a human being could He brak the power of the devil, who had the power of death. Only in this way could He set free all who have lived their lives as slaves to the fear of dying…” (Hebrews 2:14-15, NLT)

Death entered the human race when the devil deceived Adam and Eve and they chose to sin. But their choice is also our choice, and the wages of sin is death, both physical and spiritual. The good news is that Jesus came to break the bondage of death and the fear that goes with it. He sets the captive free and looses us from every stronghold. He liberates us to live out our God-given identity as His children. His sacrifice makes it all possible. Praise Him.

Lord, we thank You that we have been loosed from spiritual bondage, in Jesus’ name.
