"Never Fails"

When I stop and think about it,

There’s no way I could doubt it,

Eternally I’ll shout it,

Jesus never fails.

Others may not see it,

Don’t think they can be it.

But God will still decree it,

His wind fills our sails.

The faithful love has changed me,

His kindness rearranged me,

The new for old exchanged me,

And all my thanks I feel.

And I just want to live it,

Without reserve to give it,

And when hurt forgive it,

His grace to me made real.

So brother come and get some,

There’s much and more and yet some,

Not effort but you let some,

Come flowing like a stream.

To quench your thirst and hunger,

Too many ways to number,

Break every bond asunder,

And disrupt the devil’s scheme.

“…for He Himself has said, ‘I will never desert you, nor will I ever forsake you.’” (Hebrews 13:5, NIV)

One does not live very long before we realize you can’t count on everybody. Some mean well but are not capable of being faithful. But the Lord is always there, day and night. He promises never to leave or forsake. That means His presence is constant and His care is uninterrupted. This faithful love is anchor for our souls and a rock of dependability. When we find this security we can live on purpose.

Lord, help us realize we can always count on You, in Jesus’ name.
