"No"

When the wrong thing gets real easy,

And you’re fightin’ toe to toe,

Stand up for integrity,

And let ‘em hear your no.

When the get rich quick scheme happens,

And they talk real fast, not slow,

Don’t be a foolish sucker,

Clearly say heck, no.

When your daughter dates a mean one,

And he doesn’t think you know,

Grab ahold his collar,

And let him feel your no.

When they diagnose your problem,

Tell you not much time to go,

Ask the Lord for healing,

To the cancer just say no.

When your country’s getting stolen,

By those who hate it so,

Make sure you vote your conscience,

And tell the haters  no.

There’s a moment when the tempter,

Tries to stop the Spirit’s flow,

The righteous must resist him,

In Jesus’ name say no.

The Good Lord’s love is awesome,

It’s amazing grace we know,

Because clearly we have heard His yes,

Let’s now respect His no.

1 For the grace of God has appeared that offers salvation to all people. 12 It teaches us to say “No” to ungodliness and worldly passions, and to live self-controlled, upright and godly lives in this present age, (Titus 2:11-12, NIV)

God’s grace is the most positive message on earth! It shows and share God’s love with us, and offers us total forgiveness and healing. But this same grace teaches us to say no to the old life and its sinful, selfish ways. We are called, in fact, to renounce ungodliness and die to ourselves on a daily basis. Sometimes the best thing a Christian can say is a strong, sold no.

Lord, help us to say no when we need to, in Jesus’ name.
