"Paul"

On my way, a blinding light,

I fell down to the ground,

I heard a voice from heaven,

The air was filled with sound.

The voice, it called me by my name,

Said you’re persecuting me,

I then asked who are you, Lord?

I couldn’t hear or see.

It’s Jesus that you’re pressing,

By hurting these, my kin,

And I have lots of plans for you,

Though violent you have been.

Then they led me by the hand,

Shocked and awed to town,

Spent time alone and praying,

Then Ananias came around,

To pray for me and tell me,

God had made His call,

Laid His claim upon my life,

So I could tell them all,

That Jesus is the Savior,

Died and then arose,

And anyone who calls on Him,

Salvation brings to those.

I knew that I would suffer,

But I would have His grace,

And for the first time in my life,

I finally found my place.

Out there on the ragged edge,

Of telling this Good News,

Following God’s Spirit,

And listening for the clues,

Of where He leads the mission,

And whose life will be changed,

And dealing with the challenges,

And schedules rearranged.

Till finally in all the world,

The Good News there must go,

God’s love knows no boundaries,

And everyone should know.

And now I’ve joined the witnesses,

Who cheer from heaven’s ground,

Waiting for the end of time,

When we hear the sound,

Of God’s trumpet in the morning,

And that archangel’s shout,

When all knees bow and every tongue,

Will praise the Lord, no doubt.

And, yes, I’ve finished all my work,

And to the end, my fight,

And now it is your turn to run,

To go and share the light.

But I cannot forget the time,

With that bright light and sound,

Jesus Christ confronted me,

And turned my life around.

“…Yes, I am sending you to the Gentiles, to open their eyes, so they may turn from darkness to light and from the power of satan to God…” (Acts 26:17-18, NLT)

Jesus claimed a terrorist for His own and changed His life forever. From the. beginning it was made clear to Saul that his conversion was a mens to an end. He was being saved in order to be sent by God to people who had never heard about Jesus. Paul became a great preacher and teacher, but he knew that the most powerful thing he could say to anybody was what Jesus had done for him. No matter his audience, he was faithful to share his testimony. And God powerfully used him and, through his writings, still does. It is much the same for all who come to the Lord. Make no mistake, all of us are called to share the message, and all have a testimony to give. The most powerful thing you can tell anyone is what Jesus Christ has done fo you. Being saved is never just about us and what we receive. It’s about what others receive because of what God has done in our lives.

Lord, help us share Your Good News with others, in Jesus’ name.
