"See It"
Some folks never see it,
Even when they do,
Their eyes are blind, to scenes sublime,
And never know, it’s true.
They gaze out at a sunset,
At God’s blazing, awesome palette,
The beauty there, beyond compare,
And don’t care to look at it.
The waves upon the seashore,
The mountains’ breathless peaks,
Is theirs to waste, because their haste,
Steals the heart that seeks,
To marvel at the wonder,
And revel in the art,
Distinct design and hues so fine,
In every single part.
From falling leaf and dancing flake,
To twinkling stars above,
It all is there, to show His care,
And touch us with His love.
Whether horseback on high desert,
Or traveling ‘cross the plains,
In canyons deep and hillside steep,
The beauty still remains.
If your eyes can see it,
If you have ears to hear,
All there to show, on winds to blow,
That our Creator’s near.
So please don’t miss the beauty,
Just stop and drink it up,
Those who do, I’m telling you,
He’ll surely fill their cup.
The light out there is shining,
So brightly sweet to show,
The Greater light and love’s great might,
To lift us up and go,
Every place He sends us,
His beauty for to share,
Drawn to be, so they can see,
He is so clearly there.
“For ever since the world was created, people have seen the earth and sky. Through everything God made, they can clearly see His invisible qualities- His eternal power and divine nature. So they have no excuse for not knowing God.” (Romans 1:20, NLT)
Paul is describing the general revelation of God through what God created. The beauty and design clearly point to a Designer who uses the beauty to reveal Himself. If one follows the general revelation, it becomes more and more specific. One can understand God’s power and nature. This ultimately will lead to God’s specific and ultimate revelation- Jesus Christ. The God who created loves us enough to reveal Himself to us. He will even help us see if we ask Him to heal our blindness.
Lord, heal our spiritual blindness and help us to see You, in Jesus’ name.
