"Texas"
I’m glad to be, here you see,
In Texas’ big, old heart,
Not heaven yet, but still I bet,
This gives a big headstart.
Expansive range and seasons change,
And weather goes extreme,
But beauty still and all I feel,
Is thankfulness that’s real.
No, not from here and to be clear,
Sweet home from Alabam,
But adopted son, proud to be one,
I tell my friends and fam.
From Galveston to setting sun,
And Palo Duro deep,
From old Cowtown to all I’ve found,
Strong memories to keep.
So let me live and I will give,
Praise to the Lord above,
This Texas dear, glad I am here,
It’s now the home I love.
“Trust in the Lord and do good; dwell in the land and enjoy safe pasture.” (Psalm 37:3, NIV)
People misunderstand what it means to trust the Lord. If we live by faith we are not only trusting the Lord to give us eternal salvation and take us to heaven when we die. We are trusting Him to lead every part of our lives. This includes where we live, how we work and play, and all our relationships. When we cooperate with God’s plan, He will give us our heart’s desires. Abundant life is God’s intention for all of us.
Lord, help us trust in You, in Jesus’ name.
