"The Way"

Where are you going?

I don’t really know,

The future’s uncertain,

I’m just on the go.

But isn’t it true,

If destination’s unknown,

It makes one no matter,

Which way they’ve flown.

I see your point,

But it’s all in the travel,

If you live for the future,

You mind will unravel.

That sounds right, I’ll give you,

But not really true,

If the end is in mind,

We know what to do.

But if aimless, not aiming,

Then we’re sure to miss,

A target worth hitting,

Or am I remiss?

No, but isn’t there burden,

If you say one way’s right,

At expense to the others,

Who still are in sight?

Yes, there’s a burden,

To one way that’s right,

But compared to confusion,

That burden is light.

In fact it relieves us,

When we know for sure,

That we’re headed the right way,

And all things endure.

I guess it comes down to,

A choice we must make,

And pray God will help us,

Not make a mistake.

His Word has told us,

That Christ is the Way,

To the Father who loves us,

And calls us to stay,

On the path He has chosen,

And the life He prescribes,

And not be deceived by,

The world’s many tribes,

Who worship creation,

Instead of Creator,

Make excuses for sin,

And reject the Savior.

Where are you going?

Make your choice today,

Will it be your confusion,

Or Jesus the Way.

“Jesus told him, ‘I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one can come to the Father except through Me.’” (John 14:6, NLT)

Do you believe Jesus said this? If so, how seriously should we take it? It’s a profound claim. No one can come to the Father except through Jesus. Wow. Why do you think Jesus made this claim? He was either lying or a lunatic or the Savior. There are no other options, unless you want to make the argument He never said it and John made it up. But that is illogical. If John distorted the message of Jesus it would most definitely NOT be to make it harder to swallow. Back to Jesus. Why? Jesus’ death and resurrection were unique events designed by God as His eternal solution to the human problem of sin. Rejecting His solution and substituting something else is the biggest mistake anyone could make. One way to God: Jesus. Perhaps to keep it simple and uncomplicated. But many ways to Jesus, right? Yes, many. The Father draws people to Jesus using many methods and means. But Jesus always leads to the Father. If you haven’t already, I suggest you take a hard look at the claims of Jesus and decide for yourself what you believe. One thing’s for certain: a choice must be made. I pray you choose wisely.

Lord, we recognize You as the way, the truth, and the life, in Jesus’ name.
