"Vision"

Anticipation fueled excitement,

We thought Christmas came so slow,

Vacation brought delightment,

Looking forward, don’t you know,

To birthday celebrations,

And each time we went somewhere,

Always made our reservations,

Talked it up till we got there.

Have we given up our hoping,

Now that we’re older and mature,

Are we livin’ just by coping,

Calmer, colder and demure.

That’s not how God would have it,

It’s abundant life He’s planned,

If only we could grab it,

Have the fire of vision fanned.

Hoping, praying and believing,

For God’s future yet to come,

By the Spirit’s power receiving,

Not a moment of ho-hum.

“…and we exult in hope of the glory of God.” (Romans 5:2, NAS)

Exulting in hope means we are excited about the future!. For the believer in Jesus Christ, destiny is the focus over history. We are called to the future glory of God’s Kingdom, and when our vision is clear, we live in consistent expectation and anticipation. All that matters awaits us, and everything of value in this life is tallied in the next. This life is all about what ultimately happen in the next.

Lord, renew our vision, in Jesus’ name.
