"What Grandpa Did"

Cowboys and the cowboy way,

I think about it every day,

Horseback men who work and play,

And live what others dream.

More times than not, they keep their word,

Some may think it quite absurd,

Archaic might be what you’ve heard,

Or what you’d hardly deem,

Possible in this old world,

With boys submitting to be girled,

And from them all their courage hurled,

So far from yesterday.

But some ride loyal to the brand,

And do not fear to take a stand,

Could care less for those who plan,

Their godlessness okay.

But woke is not what Daddy taught,

And no cowboy would e’er be caught,

With moral values sold or bought,

By the highest bid.

The great command, commission, too,

The golden rule is what they do,

And follow still the Good Book true,

‘Cause it’s what Grandpa did.

“Blessed is the man who does not walk in the counsel of the wicked or stand int he way of sinners or sit in the seat of mockers…” (Psalm 1:1, NIV)

Who we receive counsel from matters. We are blessed if we do not follow the advice of the wicked. Yet the marketing strategy of those who do not believe in God has a demonic anointing. Over time good people are often worn down and deceived by the sheer constancy of the liars who repeat their falsehoods over and over again. Perversion is first justified, then normalized, and then aggrandized to the level of superiority. Light is called darkness, right is called wrong, and good is called bad. God help us to wake up and embrace the truth, in Jesus’ name.

Lord, deliver us trom the wrong advice, in Jesus’ name.
