"What I Will and Won't"

I’ve surprised a lot of people,

By what I did and didn’t do,

I’ve caught a lot of crazy,

And some my loop went through.

But when I discovered Jesus,

I knew I’d found the treasure,

The one that I’d been looking for,

And there’s no way to measure,

What I won’t and what I will,

Because of what He’s done,

I’ll tell you there’s no limit,

All in ‘cause He’s the one,

Who died and rose to give me life,

And show me what to do,

And I believe with all my heart,

That what He said is true.

I won’t listen to imposters,

I will listen to God’s word,

I won’t hold any grudges,

To forgive is what I’ve heard.

I will give thanks in the morning,

For the grace that comes each day,

I won’t waste the time God gives me,

I will trust the Lord and pray.

I will learn to be a witness,

I will tell what God has done,

Won’t sit and just be silent,

Shout the victory is won.

Won’t go along to get along,

Won’t compromise my stand,

Will trust the Lord to help me,

By the Spirit know I can.

And when my life Is over,

I will go where Jesus said,

Won’t have to ever fear it,

‘Cause I’ll live after I’m dead.

I’ve surprised a lot of people,

By what I did and didn’t do,

But I belong to Jesus,

And so, my friend, should you.

“Because of the Lord’s great love we are not consumed, for His compassions never fail. They are new every morning; great is Your faithfulness.” (Lamentations 3:22-23, NIV)

The Lord is faithful even when we aren’t. His mercies never fail and are new every morning. His faithfulness is the anchor of our lives and is the only source personal security. When you have experienced His compassion you will never forget it. He redefines our priorities and shows us what matters most. His love drives out our fears and energizes us to forgive and love others. His specialty is loving the unlovable through us and forgiving the unforgivable. Mercy is the greatest miracle, and it’s new every morning.

Lord, help us celebrate Your faithfulness, in Jesus’ name.
