"When"

When pray-ers pray and fighters fight,

And workers work with all their might,

When men of faith walk in the light,

Some better times we’ll see.

When liars we won’t tolerate,

And men of action will not wait,

To stand and show that God is great,

No doubt it still can be.

When husbands lead their families,

When God, not men, we seek to please,

And we find answers on our knees,

We’ll claim a better way.

When evil dies ‘cause egos do,

We trade the lies for what is true,

And by the Spirit get a clue,

No doubt, a better day.

And some complain that it’s too late,

Because of sin we’ve sealed our fate,

Crowded idols on our plate,

But don’t forget His grace.

To every heart that humbles down,

Turns from sin and turns around,

Lovingkindness can be found,

If we will seek His face.

“So I say to you, ask, and it will be given to you; seek and you will find; knock and it will be opened to you. For everyone who asks, receives; and he who seeks, finds; and to him who knocks, it will be opened.” (Luke 11:9-10, NAS)

God rewards those who are spiritually proactive. The promise clearly teaches that if we ask, seek, and knock He will respond by blessing us. This does not mean that every request will be granted. It simply means that those who turn to the Lord and go after His favor will be the ones who find it consistently. God blesses everybody. But special blessings await those who ask, seek and knock.

Lord, help us to turn to You and turn away from every distraction, in Jesus’ name.
