"Where You're Going"
Do you know where you’re going,
Whether faster or you’re slowing,
The destination matters, yes it does.
Thought I’d die in Alabama,
But now my daily manna,
Is served up here in Texas just because,
God said He had a new plan,
And I doubted long that He can,
Do the thing I hoped so very long.
But things can change and they will,
The empty and the blank fill,
And He’ll teach us to sing a brand new song.
So if you have a vision,
It inspires, gives life revision,
Adjusts and brings you through the roughest time.
The mountain, it’s a-moving,
The seed of faith improving,
Fights what wounds and worries when you climb.
But never let pain stop you,
By His stripes healing comes through,
And all you need to get there will be yours.
Heaven ends the journey,
And Jesus, our attorney,
Will advocate and open heaven’s door.
“This High Priest of ours understands our weaknesses, for He faced all the same testings we do, yet He did not sin. So let us come boldly to the throne of our gracious God. There we will receive His mercy, and find grace to help us when we need it most…” (Hebrews 4:15-16, NLT)
Jesus died for us and rose again to become the High Priest that ushers us into God’s presence. For those who accept Him, this will happen when their earthly life is over. Heaven is their destination and they can be sure of it because of what Jesus has done. Until then, we need the grace to overcome life’s changes and trials. The writer of Hebrews calls us to come boldly to God when we need help the most. Again, because of Jesus, we can receive the mercy and grace needed to keep going and never give up. All this is wonderful and sounds great, but sometimes challenging to remember when we’re going through pain and difficulty. But our destination is secure and there is lots of heaven on the way. Come boldly. Receive grace.
Lord, make us sure heaven is our home and we have the grace to get through every challenge, in Jesus’ name.
