"Young Cloud"

I see them there, up in the air,

The clouds their shadows cast,

i lift my rein and hat brim stain,

To watch them all go past.

And from the east, today at least,

That young cloud like a stray,

Blows along, just like a song,

That comes but will not stay.

Pleasure gives because it lives,

Up high where so few go,

Oh, to be a cloud so free,

A fantasy I know.

But wonder still, my heart will fill,

When flying ‘cross the sky,

That little cloud, I have allowed,

Speaks from way up high.

Listen close, drink in a dose,

Of sun and fun and play,

Don’t miss the joy, let sad destroy,

The gift God calls today.

We ought to be much more carefree,

Life’s not just toil and pain,

But new begin, life in the wind,

And celebrate again.

“Cast all your anxiety on Him because He cares for you.” (1 Peter 5:7, NIV)

Life can be full of anxiety. It doesn’t even have to be a big deal for us to be uptight and stressed out. What to do with our stress? Peter writes we should cast all our anxiety on the Lord. This means that we actually throw the burden on Jesus and release it to Him. It means we surrender control to Him, and trust Him to do what needs to be done. By relinquishing these burden we are relieved. He shows us again and again that we can trust Him, and that He has our best interests in mind. He cares for us, above all others. God wants to make us carefree.

Lord, help us to cast our cares on You, in Jesus’ name.
