"Can't Keep Up"
I’ve seen the change, life rearrange,
The values I hold dear,
Makes me laugh, but on behalf,
Of those who shed a tear,
I have to say I have dismay,
About how far we’ve gone,
Wrong is right and dark is light,
The bandwagon jump on.
It’s not clear our gender here,
Has come to how we feel,
Biology, it lies, you see,
And frankly is not real.
No absolutes, and in cahoots,
With woke agenda boys,
They file lawsuits, discard our roots,
Embracing what destroys.
But I will say and stay and pray,
For all our nation needs,
Speak truth in love from up above,
And replant scripture seeds.
Love one and all and make the call,
To turn from this dark path,
It’s not debate, on God we wait,
To give His grace, not wrath.
I can’t keep up, God fills my cup,
With peace past what I know,
Christ is the way, I hear Him say,
That to Him we should go.
And if we do, I’m telling you,
We’ll find the blessing there,
Revival strong will right the wrong,
And God’s judgment spare.
“What sorrow for those who say that evil is good and good is evil…” (Isaiah 5:20, NLT)
Redefining sin to suit cultural whim is not a new problem. The ancient prophet Isaiah recognized it thousands of years ago. But what was true in the time of Isaiah is still true today. God sets the standards for human behavior and they are absolute, not relative. We may deny they are true or that they even exist, but no matter. They are given by God and are still binding upon human behavior. It is because we have crossed those boundaries that Jesus died. He took all our trespasses and nailed them to the cross so that we can be pardoned and set free. Redefining what Jesus died to forgive is deception.
Lord, help us never compromise what You say is wrong or right, in Jesus’ name.
