"Colors"

Just when I thought,

That I had caught,

The best of waning day,

The morning came,

After the rain,

And showed a new bouquet,

Of colors as the sun rose,

So brilliantly the light grows,

And tells me so my heart knows,

There’s always more to see.

Surprised by nature’s palette,

Breaks all of boredom’s habit,

I cast a thankful ballot,

Love in the sky for me.

So if a simple cowhand,

Can comprehend the Lord’s plan,

Splash colors across His land,

From sky to sky His grace span,

I’m thankful to the core.

The heavens tell the truth, son,

And, no, His work is not done,

Until each battle He’s won,

The colors filling our run,

For us He is the door,

Colors make us love Him more.

“The heavens proclaim the glory of God. The skies display His craftsmanship.” (Psalm 19:1, NLT)

The psalmist recognized the constant witness of God’s creation. It’s one of the most beautiful ways God reveals Himself. There did not have to be color. Everything could simply be done in neutral grays and browns. But creation displays a kaleidoscope of beauty! And there is order in every leaf and feather. From the farthest reaches of space to the tiniest, microscopic view, there is beauty and design. God meant for the colors to draw us to Him. Praise the Creator!

Lord, thank You for the colors of Your creation, in Jesus’ name.
