"Country Christmas"
It’s Christmas in the country,
Tin Top, Texas, Horseshoe Bend,
And from our Brazos pastures,
The Christmas love we send.
It’s really not too cold here,
On this cloudy Christmas day,
Rain gauge showed over an inch,
Praise God for this we say.
Grandchildren got their presents,
The grown kids got a few,
Stacey got a necklace,
And I got her, it’s true.
Last night we had a service,
With candlelight and friends,
With music that was worshipful,
Praise love that never ends,
We prayed and hugged each other,
We got a good night’s sleep,
And today it’s really peaceful,
Makin’ memories we can keep.
And as my Daddy used to say,
Christmas gift to all,
And peace on earth from God above,
To those who on Him call.
“For whoever will call on the name of the Lord will be saved.” (Romans 10:13, NAS)
Jesus came into this world to be our Savior. But salvation is not something that happens automatically or that God forces on anyone. The grace is offered but must be received. If you call on the Lord’s name and sincerely ask for salvation He will give it to you. If you do not, the gift is available but if unreceived will do you no good. So if you have not already, it might be time to be proactive and call on the name of the Lord. All who do are not disappointed. He will do as He promises.
Lord, help us to call on Your name, in Jesus’ name. we pray.
