"Deceiver"

There’s people who want you to think,

That what they say is right,

You’ll sometimes hear ‘em on the news,

But they’re not in the light.

Their motivation is not clear,

But they don’t tell what’s true,

The devil’s a deceiver,

And he’ll use them on you.

The spirit of the liar,

And the father of them all,

Jesus saw him falling,

And made that righteous call,

And he may be attractive,

But it’s just a masquerade,

Many souls he’s stolen,

And many he’s betrayed.

So grab hold of the Word of God,

And let it keep you straight,

Freed from all deception,

And delivered from all hate.

Walking in the Spirit,

Will let you see the way,

Not distracted by a detour,

Nor anyone’s delay.

Walking in the truth, you see,

Will keep you free and strong,

And greater is the One in you,

You’ve known it all along.

The devil cannot stop us,

We have the victory,

Our minds have been unblinded,

And now the truth we see.

“You are from God, little children, and have overcome them; because greater is He who is in you than he who is in the world.” (1 John 4:4, NAS)

The spirit that controls the world, sometimes even called by scripture the “god of this world,” is the devil himself. Jesus said he was a liar and the father of all lies. His purpose is to steal, kill and destroy our lives and we are at war with him. It is clear that our secular culture is becoming more and more deceived, ad nauseum. But the good news is that the One who resides in the weakest believe is stronger than the strongest devil. We have the victory and have overcome the evil one, in Jesus’ name. Don’t buy the lie and don’t be intimidated.

Lord, help us realize Your power within us, in Jesus’ name.
