"Direction"

Sometimes the will of Jesus,

Is so obvious to me,

I can’t argue with it,

It’s so plain to see.

It may be a Scripture,

He lays upon my heart,

Or peace so strong it guides me,

And glad to do my part.

Sometimes He speaks through people,

And they will give a word,

Feels like it was just for me,

And Jesus’ voice I heard.

Then there is the Spirit,

Who whispers soft and low,

I can’t always heart it,

But He guides me and I know,

He’s big enough to stop me,

When I choose the wrong way,

Can call a halt and block me,

So I won’t go astray.

I don’t mean it happens,

Every single time,

That His will is up there glowing,

Like some big neon sign.

It’s then I know He’s calling,

Me to walk by faith,

Even when I’m unsure,

Of every step to take.

Just keep it ‘tween the ditches,

Go by what’s in the Book,

And trust Him for the answer,

And help to always look.

Jesus is our Shepherd,

He says He’ll go before,

He says His sheep will hear Him,

He’ll open every door.

And that gives me some comfort,

When my head is hard,

And I’m feeling stubborn,

Then remember how I’m scarred.

By times I wouldn’t listen,

Thank God He helps me change,

Lead me home, Lord Jesus,

And my life rearrange.

“My sheep listen to My voice; I know them and they follow Me…” (John 10:27, NLT)
